Gifts??? Presents???

What gifts? What presents? Aiyo... Don't ask me that questions. When it comes to gifts or presents, I always dunno what to buy. Usually just look around the shopping malls. In the end, without anything to be bought. Haiya... Frustrating sometime...

Now, Christmas is coming and I already have two gift-exchange to look forward to. One more is coming. So total of three. What gifts to be bought??? This is really making me headache. I managed to buy for two. Hehehe... It's a secret. Don't want to let anybody knows until the time... =D I still need to look for another one.

What about you guys??? Do you have the same problem? What kind of gifts do you usually buy?

Diving Pulau Hantu

I dived for the first time in local (Singapore) water. The dive site is at Pulau Hantu. It's an island south of Singapore, farther from Sentosa. We took a speed boat there. It takes only about 15 minutes.

The boat can only accomodate 10 people, not including the boat man. Me, Nam Lee and David were taking leisure dive accompanied by Kaz. Wai Ling, Kristal, Serene and Zaid were taking rescue course, guided by Ashar and Nazim. We had two dives in total.

The first dive, I had problem descending. I don't know why. I tried to descend, but it seems that I cannot do it. When I tried again, I could only down half way and then up again. While the other three were already below, I just waited on the surface. I don't know whether you know about the Singapore water. The water is not clear. The visibility was only two meters or less. I was afraid if I descend, I cannot find the rest below. I decided to wait on the surface. After a while, Kaz surfaced. I called him and we descended together. Kaz pulled me down this time. =D Hahaha... At the bottom, we couldn't find Nam Lee and David. Both of us swam around to look for the two of them, while Kaz kept on banging his tank. And we found them =D

Then, we continued our dive. David in front, Me and Nam Lee side by side. and Kaz behind. =D Four of us dive for a while, and suddenly Kaz was nowhere to be seen. Hahaha.... One person was missing again. Oh no... What happened?? It seems that Kaz was left behind. We waited. David kept on banging his tank. I could hear Kaz banging his tank, but couldn't see him. Waiting and waiting and waiting, it's almost 5 mins, and we were about to surfaced to meet Kaz on the surface. Suddenly, Kaz showed just behind of us. Hahaha... So we continued our dive slower and looked out for each other.

After first dive, Me and Nam Lee went up to the boat first. David and Kaz preparing a scenario for the Rescue course. Hahaha... It's interesting how it's being done. It's like the real scenario. David was a diver who had kram and no more air left. And Kaz was a panic diver. The four rescue course people had to save them. =D So there they go, Diver to the rescue!!! Hahaha... While me and Nam Lee eating Sandwiches and drink Coffee... =P

Second dive, I had no problem descending this time. Maybe before due to the dry equipment. I don't know. This second dive is better, noone got lost. We found one red crab, one nudibranch. I saw a school of fish also. =D

It's another experience diving in local water. =D You should try it sometime. Well, at least once... =P Diving season will start end of February!!! Can't wait for the next dive...

SCBE Dinner Gathering

Yesterday, I had a dinner gathering with my colleagues. 22 of us went to Swensens in Bugis junction. Hohoho... A lot hor... Yup2, it's kinda a lot of people. Some of us went over first to hog the place because Swensens doesn't accept booking on weekend. Haiya... Dunno why, some restaurant doesn't accept bookingduring weekend. What I know is that Sizzler doesn't accept booking on weekend too.

I had Sourdough 49ers. There're two sandwich on my plate with fries. =D It's pretty nice. I can really taste the cheese. I love cheese. At first I didn't order any dessert. But my colleagues sitting beside and in front of me ordered one. So, I was tempted. In the end I had Sticky Chewy Chocolate as dessert. Yummy... Didn't regret having that. =D

After dinner for about two hours, taking a lot of pictures. We finally went out. Most of us went home, some meeting their friends. In the end, left six of us, looking some place to drink and chilled out. Decided to go to Can Cafe at Liang Seah Street Just behind Bugis Junction. It's kinda cool place. Sitting on a sofa, have music and aircon. The bad news is that people can smoke in side the cafe. It's an aircon place and yet people can smoke there. I guess, it's a smoking cafe. Luckily, when we were there, nobody smoked. We could enjoy our time there.

We talked and talked and talked nonstops. From work related, life related, relationship, marriage, next outing, bungee jumping, extreme sports, some jokes, riddler, Hahaha... A lot... Not take note of the time, we spent four hours there just sitting and chit chatting. Haha... Time sure flies when we are having fun. About 130am, we took a cab and headed home. Really enjoy myself yesterday. Looking forward for the next outing... =D

Photos are on the way!!!

RENT

RENT is a broadway musical show. It's a modern day version of the opera La Boheme. It's set at New York City's East Village. It's a story of a community of young artist struggling to live and celebrate life.

I went to the show on Sunday evening 3pm. It's showing in Kallang theatre. We managed to get cheap tickets for the show. They sold the last minute tickets for S$50. And when I checked they still have empty seats 7th row from the front. It's supposed to be S$148. Very good bargain isn't it. So, without thinking twice, I went to book the tickets. =D

There are eight main characters in the show. A film-maker, a musician, a performance artist, a lawyer, a dancer, a computer genius, a street drummer, and the landlord. The story is not really about a rent, but more to the lifes of each character. Inside the story, one lesbian couple, one gay couple, one normal couple. Each of them has their own problem. It's an awesome performance.

I just knew that they produce the movie. Too bad they never show it in Singapore. I should watch if it is showing here. I love the songs also, especially Season of Love. I just love the song. Anybody has the song??? Please pass it to me... =D I want it!!!

For more information, you can visit some of the websites

This is not exactly the performers that I went on Sunday, but can give you the idea of the story and the characters.

The movie, I wish it's showing in Singapore. Just released on 23 November 2005 in US.

Pepper Lunch

Today, we tried new eating place. It's called Pepper Lunch. But it serves dinner also. =D Actually it's just a name only. They serve dinner also. It's originated from Japan I think. Vero said she ate it before, in Japan though. Hohoho... It's a combination between fast food and restaurant. Why??? Because you need to order and pay the food in the cashier first. The cashier is like those you have in KFC, McD, and Burger King. After you pay, you go to your seat and they will deliver the food. =P

I was late this evening. Jejep, Vero and Asen queued first. When I just arrived, they were already in front of the cashier ordering the food. Vero then called me to come to the front of the cashier and asked me to order. I just arrived, dunno anything about the menu. Then, Vero told me to order the menu No. 4. So I said OK, and ordered Coca Cola as the drink. So, we paid the food and go to our seat. I didn't even know what my order was. Just wishing that it turned out to be good.

My food

After sometime, our food came. =D It's put on a hot plate. It's still raw when it served. So we need to turn and mixed the food. So you feel like cooking you own meal. My order turned out to be beef steak, with bean sprout and carrot. They also have some sauces on the table which you can add to your meal. =D For me, the food is nice. I enjoyed eating eat. And it smells nice too. You can try it. But be prepare to queue, I think the queue is fast though. =D

Senior Citizen Celebration

We had Senior Citizen Celebration on 19th Nov'05. It was really fun day. It's actually an event where all the elderly come together, with the family, staff and also volunteers. We as volunteers was also invited for this event. That day, we just sat there and enjoy the performances. =D

There're a lot of perfomances starting with some dance from little kids. They were so cute... They performed Mongolian, English, Spanish, and Indian. There should be some more but I forgot what kind of dance. =D Then, there was All Saints Staff perfomances, they did modern dance and Myanmar dance.

Then the best part was that Senior Citizen Pageant. Some of the elderly dressed up and had make up. They are really pretty. I was surprised when I saw them. =D There's one uncle that dressed in a chiong sam. Hehehe... At first we were confused and discussing whether he is a male or female. Then, when Surin introduce him, then we knew that we were wrong.

Followed by the performance of some staff that acting like some of the elderly. I think some of the elderly knew that it was them. But, all were in a fun way. So, I think the elderly also had fun... =D

We sang two songs before the last performance. Tien Mi Mi and Friends, both are Chinese songs. Well, I don't speak and read Mandarin. So, I just mumbled. =D Luckily we had other volunteers who can sing well. =D So, they can cover my voice... Hohoho...

Last Friday Outing

Last Friday I went to one of my colleagues house in Sengkang. There were 8 of us. =D I know it's far. You know what? It takes two hours to get there from NTU. Very far hor... Luckily there is a transport bus from NTU to Sengkang for my colleague. It only takes shorter time to Sengkang. If not, I really pity het. Hehehe...

That evening, my colleagues went together with the transport bus. But, I was left out because I had a last minute meeting with my boss and finished about 6pm. The bus left about 520pm. So, there it goes. I went to Sengkang all the way by taking bus to Boon Lay, MRT to Woodlands and another bus to Sengkang. According my colleague, this is the faster route rather than taking MRT all the way from Boon Lay to Sengkang. Still, it takes about two hours... =(

When I reached there, they'd already taken their dinner, getting ready to play some games. chit chatting, looking at some photo albums, while I am having my dinner. Really got a good laugh when looking at some of the photos. =D Then we played some games... And the losers will have to dance of got hit. It's really battle of the sexes, though only two guys were there. Yup, you're right. The guys got bullied. Hahaha... I ended up dancing twice and none of the girls got this punishment. You know when one of them lost, they only got a hit. It's not even a hit. It's just a touch. Hahaha... But it's really a great fun and had a great laugh.

We left about 11pm and reached home about 1am. Hohoho... Really had great fun. Thanks to Evelyn for sharing her place for us to get together and have fun. =D
